At the beginning of 1998, The Johannesburg Child Wellfare Society opened its first Child Wellfare Charity shop at 187B Louis Botha Avenue in Norwood.

Most of its supporters prefer to make donations in kind (clothing, toys, shoes etc.) and this is an extremely important part of the Society's income.

Most of the childrens clothing and bric-a-brac is converted to cash over the shop counter. These proceeds go directlt to benefit the Abandoned Baby Unit and the Foster Care department. which by itself, places and looks after more than 1600 children.

When you move house, you always find that you have a lot of serviceable items, including clothing, which you may want to get rid of. The director's at ARAN Internationalhave kindly offered to allow the services of this company to assist in the collection of such unwanted items.

We hope, therefore, that when the time comes to pack, you will think of the less fortunate children and place such items here in a box for our removal staff to collect.

The shop does its best to set a high standard in order to attract the right clientelle, so please avoid offering broken or torn items. Soft goods and clothing are washed or dry cleaned but the shop does not have repair facilities. Unfortunately, furniture cannot be accepted as the shop is too small, nor electrical goods due to possible liability if they were to go wrong.
